Download Java SE 8 Environment 8 1.8.11.12 for Mac. Fast downloads of the latest free software! Consult following posts if you are looking to download and install JDK 1.5, JDK 1.6, JDK 1.7, JDK 1.9 or JDK 1.10. Java can be obtained from the Oracle Java download page. There are a number of different Java packages available, for this tutorial we will be installing Java Standard Edition (SE) on Windows.

1. Here you can download the Java JDK 1.8. After installing it, it should appear as an option inside IntelliJ. UPDATE: Find File - Project structure menu and go to Project Settings - Project tab. If on Project SDK the Java version 1.8 SDK is not selected, change it and click OK.
2. Scroll down until you see 'Eclipse IDE for Java Developers' and click where it says 64 bit under Mac OS X. You will see this window: Click on the yellow download button. If asked, click on 'Open with Archive Utility (default)' and then click OK.
3. Start today with Red Hat's implementation of OpenJDK—a free and open source implementation of the Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE). The following downloads are for development only. Jdk-8u275-x64 ZIP. OpenJDK 8 Windows 64­-bit Release date November 18, 2020. Download (169.05 MB).

To get JDK 7 up,

• I downloaded the JDK from Oracle. They have a nice dmg file, which makes it easy to install.
• After reading their installation instructions and running /usr/libexec/java_home (which I didn't even know about), it still wasn't defaulting to JDK 7.
